Friday 57 Degrees Food Truck Event 9.16.2011
This was the experience we were looking for. Even though being overwhelmed with scrumptious food smells, we kept our wits and began talking to different truck owners and operators. We were met with warm welcome, which is awesome!
Our first stop was Opera Caffé. The wonderful Kika took our order and talked with us for a few moments between the rush about why Opera Caffé got into the food truck business. Kika explained that "Opera Caffé has a restaurant and uses the food truck as a way to get their food out to the public", pretty smart idea if you ask Kris and I. We tried the Fried Ravioli and lets just say, AMAZING. The dish came with a bell pepper dipping sauce, the asiago cheese inside was so rich and perfectly cooked it was hard to share.
Our next stop was Pierogi Truck. Both Kris and I love Polish Sausage and after hearing a few good comments from some friends we decided we better get in on the action. Pierogi did not disappoint. The dog came with green peppers, caramelized onions, and for some extra goodness mustard (applied later by me).
The last stop we had room in our stomach for was Streetside Bistro. This was also the magical place that Kris and I met Amy sampling Streetside's Teriyaki Skewers. Amy's first response as she bit into the skewer was "OMD!" and she wanted to be quoted accurately. Kris and I got to enjoy the Lobster Mac n' Cheese, the guys at Streetside also hooked us up with the last teriyaki skewer and we agree with Amy, OMD! The Lobester Mac was sooooo good too. Man, Kris and I are going to love coming out and review these trucks more and more.
Stay tuned for our next outing, and don’t forget if you are a food truck there is still time to enter your truck into the free Food Truck Reviews giveaway. Just leave your info on the wall @ www.facebook.com/foodtruckreviews by November 10th, 2011 and you will be entered into the drawing. Thanks for reading, thanks for cooking!
